- This khutbah details how Allah SWT will deal with oppressors on the Day of Judgment and in this world, and how the oppressed can help themselves by getting closer to Allah SWT.
- Very important to listen to this khutbah because of current events in the world.
NYTimes.com has asked their reporters/friends in different capitals around the Arab world (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Syria, Iran and Lebanon) to go to a neighbourhood mosque to hear the khutbah this week and to report back on what they heard concerning Gaza.
There is no difference in color, in gender or in language. Islam is one and the book is one and the direction we face to pray is one and the pillars of Islam are one.
What we have to do, Muslim brothers, is come together and strengthen our external and internal fronts.
— Sheikh Eid Abdel Hamid Youssef, Egypt
CALL ON THE ARAB-MUSLIM ARMIES TO DEFEND GAZA
Alhamdulillah Muslims in Britain have come out strongly to support their brothers and sisters in Gaza, sincerely protesting, emailing, making dua and giving sadaqah. But we call upon our brothers and sisters doing all of this to join in solidarity with the Muslims on the Arab streets. Muslims are boiling, and screaming for armies such as Egypts to move to defend the people of Gaza. Israel has launched a brutal military assault. It requires nothing less than a military intervention to stop this. It is vital that we increase the pressure on the armies to move and account the corrupt regimes, like that of Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and Bashar Assad of Syria, who continue to betray the men, women and children of Gaza. We urge everyone to support this vital global campaign.
O Believers! Answer the Call of Allah and His Messenger when they call you to that which brings you life

“MUSLIM-ARAB REGIMES SUPPORT ISRAEL IN THIS MASSACRE?”
PHONE THESE EMBASSIES DAILY TO ASK WHY THEY HAVE SUPPORTED ISRAEL’S
MASSACRE IN GAZA; WHY THEY DID NOTHING TO DEFEND THE PEOPLE OF GAZA & WHY
THEY CONTINUE THEIR TREATIES WITH ISRAEL?

Egypt alone has 450,000 regular troops to Israel’s 180,000; and comparable levels of tanks and aircrafts. Combined these countries are overwhelmingly more powerful. Yet they do nothing.
These regimes must send their armies for the sake of Allah to defend the
helpless people of Gaza, or else they should step aside and allow a sincere
Islamic leadership to do so.
Long-term preparation, careful gathering of information, secret discussions, operational deception and the misleading of the public – all these stood behind the Israel Defense Forces “Cast Lead” operation against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, which began Saturday morning.
The disinformation effort, according to defense officials, took Hamas by surprise and served to significantly increase the number of its casualties in the strike.
Sources in the defense establishment said Defense Minister Ehud Barak instructed the Israel Defense Forces to prepare for the operation over six months ago, even as Israel was beginning to negotiate a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. According to the sources, Barak maintained that although the lull would allow Hamas to prepare for a showdown with Israel, the Israeli army needed time to prepare, as well.
Barak gave orders to carry out a comprehensive intelligence-gathering drive which sought to map out Hamas’ security infrastructure, along with that of other militant organizations operating in the Strip.
Muslim Matters have compiled a list of action-items (many from readers? comments) into one list that, inshaAllah, will empower us all. We have all read enough about Gaza to know the grave situation that our brethren find themselves in. Now, it?s time to do something. This is OUR 60-90 minutes action-guide that WE should go through at least once. Repeat one or more of the actions as often as you are able to. Do as much as you can, whenever you can. NO ACTION IS INSIGNIFICANT.
