A message from Sheik Tawfique Chowdhury: Collection For Yousuf

Dear brothers and sisters,

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmat Allah was barakatuhu

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji un (indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him is the [inevitable] return)

I trust this finds you all in excellent health and high imaan inshaAllah. Most of you are probably, now, aware that Sheikh Waleed Basyounis 4 year old son, Yousuf, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). We ask Allah the Merciful the Compassionate to make this easy for little Yousuf, to grant him strength and patience and a swift and complete recovery from which no trace of illness remains. We also ask Allah – subhanahu wa-taala- to grant patience and fortitude to the Basyouni family, and quick relief from this calamity, may Yousuf come home to
his parents and siblings in full health and spirits, Ameen thumma ameen.

You may perhaps be able to imagine the devastating impact this news must have had on Sheikh Waleed and his family. A difficult few months lie ahead of them when little Yousuf will be making frequent hospital visits for his treatment, it will be a hard time for them all and Yousuf will require special care and attention, especially in the face of possible side effects from necessary treatment.

We would like to give an opportunity of accruing reward to each and every one of you. For obvious reasons, indeed as you will understand, Sheikh Waleed does not have any medical insurance and Chemotherapy is not an inexpensive treatment. Because of this, Sheikh Tawfique has requested that we set up a fund to collect contributions that will
assist the family to pay towards Yousufs medical expenses. Please click on the chip-in link below to start contributing to this just cause.

May Allah subhanahu wa taala- reward you for your desire to contribute, make this heavy on your scales on the last day and accept it from us as something that is done sincerely for His pleasure. Please remember Yousuf, his family and indeed all your brethren who are bearing patiently in the face of trials and tribulations in your duaa.

A request from Sheikh Tawfique Chowdhury

As-Salaamu-Alaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I Pray you are all well and in high emaan?.

One of our brothers in Canada, who accepted Islam from hinduism whilst studying in Canada has requested for some help with clearing his student loan.

After accepting Islam his family has ostracised him and although he is working to try and clear his debt (Can $10K), he just makes enough to pay for his rent and other living expenses and just about manages to pay the interest amount of the loan, which is due by end of May 2009. If he fails to pay by then it will end up with the Debt Collectors which will have adverse effects on his student?s visa and also his permanent residency application which is currently under process.

Please dig deep into your pockets and let us try to help our brother in Islam by giving some of our Zakat to him isA. Sheikh has requested us to raise £5K for this cause.

Please let me know if you are able to contribute anything and JazakumAllah U Khair in advance for your generosity. May Allah subhanawatala ease your burdens in this life and the hereafter and add this kind gesture on to your scales of good deeds?Ameen?

Ma?Salaam

Friday Khutbah (09 January 2009): Friday Khutbah about Israeli attacks on Gaza around the Arab World

NYTimes.com has asked their reporters/friends in different capitals around the Arab world (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Syria, Iran and Lebanon) to go to a neighbourhood mosque to hear the khutbah this week and to report back on what they heard concerning Gaza.

There is no difference in color, in gender or in language. Islam is one and the book is one and the direction we face to pray is one and the pillars of Islam are one.

What we have to do, Muslim brothers, is come together and strengthen our external and internal fronts.

ACTION FOR GAZA: PICKET EGYPTIAN EMBASSY 11 JAN

CALL ON THE ARAB-MUSLIM ARMIES TO DEFEND GAZA

Alhamdulillah Muslims in Britain have come out strongly to support their brothers and sisters in Gaza, sincerely protesting, emailing, making dua and giving sadaqah. But we call upon our brothers and sisters doing all of this to join in solidarity with the Muslims on the Arab streets. Muslims are boiling, and screaming for armies such as Egypts to move to defend the people of Gaza. Israel has launched a brutal military assault. It requires nothing less than a military intervention to stop this. It is vital that we increase the pressure on the armies to move and account the corrupt regimes, like that of Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and Bashar Assad of Syria, who continue to betray the men, women and children of Gaza. We urge everyone to support this vital global campaign.

O Believers! Answer the Call of Allah and His Messenger when they call you to that which brings you life

SUNDAY 11TH JANUARY 2009

TIME: 1PM- 4PM

VENUE: 26 South Street, London, W1K 1DW.

Nearest Tubes: Marble Arch & Hyde Park Corner

GAZA PHONE CAMPAIGN:

“MUSLIM-ARAB REGIMES SUPPORT ISRAEL IN THIS MASSACRE?”

PHONE THESE EMBASSIES DAILY TO ASK WHY THEY HAVE SUPPORTED ISRAEL’S

MASSACRE IN GAZA; WHY THEY DID NOTHING TO DEFEND THE PEOPLE OF GAZA & WHY

THEY CONTINUE THEIR TREATIES WITH ISRAEL?

Egyptian Embassy Tel: 020 7499 3304/2401

Jordanian Embassy Tel 020 79373685

Syrian Embassy Tel 020 72459012

Saudi Embassy Tel 020 79173000

Egypt alone has 450,000 regular troops to Israel’s 180,000; and comparable levels of tanks and aircrafts. Combined these countries are overwhelmingly more powerful. Yet they do nothing.

These regimes must send their armies for the sake of Allah to defend the

helpless people of Gaza, or else they should step aside and allow a sincere

Islamic leadership to do so.
